Adopt A Cat is also a sanctuary. We have many kitties who have special needs. They are more difficult to find homes for, so we ask for sponsors to help us care for these wonderful animals. We hope you enjoy their stories. If you would like to donate toward a specific animal, Click Here. |

Casanova |
|
Casanova was named after the great lover because he is a real ladies man. He will hang onto you if he thinks you haven’t petted him enough. He has a great personality. Casanova loves to talk to you and he loves rough lovin’. You cannot scratch this cat hard enough. He’s an adult kitty, but he is extremely playful.
Unfortunately, Casanova has FIV. Otherwise he is exceptionally healthy. FIV is only contagious through a direct bite where blood is exchanged. FIV cats can live among FIV negative cats without spreading the disease if they don’t fight.

Happy Feet |
|
Happy Feet is the sweetest most loving and affectionate cat. She loves to be brushed and petted and she adores treat time! Happy Feet's tail is a little too short and so she wags it like a dog's tail. Happy Feet has a sad and happy story. She was rescued from a bad living situation. Her little legs were swollen up with infections in her joints for months. We rescued her and got her over her infection, but her little feet were badly damaged. The ligaments in both of her front legs do not allow her to use the pads of her feet. As you can see from the pictures, her little feet are bent and she walks on her joints. Happy Feet will require an owner who is willing to work with her disability. She needs to live in a carpeted home. She loves to climb and be up high because she was caged for so long due to her infection. If she gets up too high and jumps down, she rubs sores on her little legs. Her foster mom lets Happy Feet stay in her bedroom. We purchased a little set of stairs from Petsmart so she can climb up in the bed and feel tall. She gets so excited when she gets up on something. It's the cutest thing. She cannot scratch (but she tries), so she has to have regular nail trimmings so her claws don't grow into the pads of her feet. She also has a light case of stomatitis (inflammation of the gums) which needs to be watched. We have had vets look at her feet and there does not seem to be a corrective surgery or brace to help her. She is a real trooper though and nothing gets this little girl down! AND she can still make biscuits...just a little crooked, but she can still make them! If you are interested in adopting Happy Feet, please contact her foster mom at dsellens@charityworkshop.com. |

Blossom is quite the special little girl. She is an adult kitty around 5 years old. She is known for tormenting little children. All kids love Blossom and they tend to fight over her. We think she does it on purpose to see how many kids she can get into fights. Blossom will listen to children scream and holler over whose lap she’s going to sit in. Several tug-o-wars have started. She just purrrrrs and gives them kisses.
Blossom has severe stomatitis (inflammation of the gums). She has no teeth and she drools when she’s hurting (well, and sometimes when she’s really happy). She has to stay on daily medication or she cannot eat. She is on steroids and her little tummy gets bloated, but she is a very happy kitty. Steroids will probably shorten her lifespan, but she will make a wonderful kitty for someone in the mean time. We really want to find her a home with some cool kids for her. If you are interested in adopting Blossom, please email her foster mom Deana at dsellens@charityworkshop.com. |

Sasi “cross-eyed” is a very unique situation. She is a Siamese and she is so cross-eyed, that she cannot see anything further than 2 inches from her face. She is easily spooked and can be aggressive if she’s scared. She gives lots of hugs and kisses to her crazy foster mom who thought originally that she was totally wild. She noticed that Sasi was tilting her head back and forth when something new was added to the cage. She realized finally that Sasi wasn’t wild...she just can’t see. The vet says she sees 4 of everything.
Sasi needs to go to a home with no children. She will probably need to start off in a very small room or a cage. It will likely take several weeks for her to adjust to a new environment. Anyone adopting her will need to understand that they will probably get scratched and possibly bitten during the adjustment process, but it is worth it. She’s a real love bug once she realizes there’s not 20 of you coming after her. If you are interested in adopting Sasi, please email her foster mom Deana at dsellens@charityworkshop.com. |
